Illinois Library Closes Due to Mold
You may already know that mold is particularly drawn to paper products, like books. Well when you add excessive moisture and low ventilation to a library full of books, you have a serious problem. That’s what happened with one library in Taylorville, Illinois.
Library staff discovered the mold problem in March and it didn’t take long for them to realize it was a serious mold infestation. The discovery occurred when they opened a wall in one of the library’s wings.
They opened the wall because it had obvious signs of excessive moisture. It turned out that a pressure line behind the wall had cracked, causing water damage and a perfect atmosphere for mold growth.
It turned out that there were several types of mold growing there, one of them being black mold. So they shut down the library for remediation and to search for the other wings for mold growth as well.
This is why it’s so important to schedule a mold inspection as soon as you see any sign of potential mold growth, be it dampness, dark spots, or mold exposure symptoms.
If you suspect you have mold growth in your home, schedule an inspection through Mold Inspection Illinois right away. The sooner you do it, the more money, time, and grief you’ll save!
